Charlottetown teen charged after assault with pepper spray

A 19-year-old Charlottetown man is facing assault charges following an assault with pepper spray on Friday.

Charlottetown Police Services was called to a residence on Messer Drive after receiving a 911 call. A victim at the scene said he had been pepper sprayed.

Police identified, arrested and charged the teenager with assault with a weapon.

Further investigation resulted in additional charges of uttering threats and failing to comply with an undertaking. The man spent the night at the Provincial Correctional Centre. He was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court on Aug. 21.
