West Prince RCMP stopped two people and had their ATVs towed after separate incidents in Tignish Saturday.

In a news release, the RCMP said they were patrolling the Tignish area for people committing Off Road Vehicle Act Infractions when they stopped a 22-year old man for prohibited driving.

The RCMP also ticketed a 17-year-old male for driving his ATV on a highway.

Both vehicles were towed.

The RCMP advised the public that failing to stop for police when signaled to do so could result in a charge for fleeing the police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The vehicle could also be seized and forfeited to the Crown at the end of a trial.

West Prince RCMP said they will continue to target people operating off-road vehicles on roads and for other violations.
