Due to the impact of post-tropical storm Arthur, the P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone at Confederation Landing on the Charlottetown waterfront will remain closed for Sunday.

In the interest of public safety, event staff are assessing the Celebration Zone for any damage and some work may be required to reinstate the site set-up.

“We appreciate the quick work of our event management team and City of Charlottetown protective services in their efforts to secure the Celebration Zone and mitigate the impact of the storm,” says Penny Walsh McGuire, executive director for P.E.I. 2014 Inc.

“We are making every effort to get the Celebration Zone up and running, while first ensuring that all event site structures are safe for the public to enjoy.”

The P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone is next scheduled to open at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 7 for Movie Night in the Park. A further update on the re-open schedule will be issued on Monday.
