Close to 40 tickets were issued Wednesday during random road checks conducted by members of Charlottetown police and P.E.I. Highway Safety.
The tickets, issued under the Highway Traffic Act, included one ticket for having no insurance and another for a commercial vehicle removed from service for multiple infractions.
Police say the driver of the commercial vehicle also had a suspended licence.
Random road checks will continue as police attempt to make Island roads safer, a police spokesman said.
