Charlottetown’s Birchwood Field will be getting a nice make over.

Just how nice the upgrade is, however, will be up to the voters.

Charlottetown has already made the Top 10 on the Kraft Celebration Tour, a national program that helps improve places to play.

The capital city is guaranteed $25,000 from Kraft Canada to improve Birchwood Field and will host a live broadcast of TSN’s SportsCentre on Aug. 21. Now if the community receives the most votes on July 21 and July 22, it will also receive $100,000 in total towards the community project.

Charlottetown will be using its winnings from the Kraft Celebration tour to upgrade Birchwood Field, a scrap yard-turned football field, with a scoreboard and on-site storage facilities for the Privateers Football Club.

The improvements are expected to help rejuvenate the minor football program and provide a proper home for the club.

Votes can be cast by visiting on July 21 and 22.

The grand prize winner will be announced on TSN’s SportsCentre on Aug. 25.
