A 40-year-old Alberta woman spent the night in jail after police found her driving drunk Monday night in Murray Harbour.

The woman was stopped during a checkstop when Kings District RCMP officers detected a smell of liquor on her breath. A roadside breath test led Mounties to take her into the Montague detachment where the breath test there indicated a blood-alcohol level higher than the legal limit.

The woman faces drunk driving charges and will appear in court at a later date.
