Complaints from the public led to the arrests of two men for drunk driving over the weekend.

On Sunday evening, a 25-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving in the Commercial Cross area after Montague RCMP received a tip and description of the vehicle from a caller. The driver was taken to Montague detachment, where he provided breath samples twice the legal limit.

He was sent to jail to sober up.

On Saturday, East Prince RCMP received a complaint that people were littering at Thunder Cove Beach in Darnley.

Mounties stopped a vehicle and determined the male driver was impaired. He will appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date to enter a plea.

Both East Prince and Montague RCMP issued reminders to the public to continue to call police any time they witness signs of impaired driving.
