Anyone travelling to Nova Scotia by ferry this morning should expect a delay after Northumberland Ferries cancelled several of its morning crossings because of mechanical issues on one of its ships.

One of its ferries is tied up in Caribou after experiencing problems last night and Northumberland Ferries hoped to get it running again in time for the 9:30 a.m. crossing from Nova Scotia.

That hasn't happened and Northumberland Ferries has since cancelled the sailing and its 11:15 a.m. crossing from Wood Islands.

Further updates will be posted on Northumberland Ferries’ website at www.ferries.ca or passengers can call 1-877-762-7245.
