Police utilized a drug recognition expert Thursday to charge a 27-year-old woman with impaired driving.

Members of East Prince RCMP were called to the Crapaud area after receiving a complaint from the public concerning intoxicated persons. The woman will appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date.

A police news release points out that a person’s ability to operate a motor vehicle can be impaired by taking both prescribed and illegal drugs.

Cpl. Andy Cook of the East Prince RCMP urges the public to pass on any information they have about impaired drivers.
