A 21-year-old man from Lennox Island was arrested Sunday evening after two people were assaulted and threats appeared on the accused's Facebook page.

The incident began shortly after 4 a.m. when Prince District RCMP arrived at a Lennox Island residence and found the two people who claimed to have been assaulted. They didn't require medical attention, but the man they accused of injuring them had left the scene.

RCMP set up a checkstop on the bridge leading into Lennox Island and followed other tips. They also checked the accused's Facebook page, which included threatening messages later in the day.

RCMP made the arrest almost 14 hours later, at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday.

The man was taken into custody without incident and faces several charges, including assault, uttering threats, being at large on an undertaking and breach of probation. He will answer the charges at Summerside provincial court at a later date.
