Truck strikes cyclist in Borden

BORDEN – RCMP are investigating a collision between a pick-up truck and bicycle that occurred here Saturday.

Police said a Borden-Carleton resident was riding a bike through Gateway Village when she was struck at approximately 4:10 p.m.

The cyclist was an elderly woman and was treated at the scene by staff from Strait Crossing and the Borden Fire Department.

Police said she was then transported to hospital by Island EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Police interviewed the driver of the pick-up truck at the scene.
