SUMMERSIDE – Work is underway on a multi-million dollar development project along Central Street and Pope Road in Summerside.
The projects calls for the construction of two 24-apartment buildings at an estimated cost of $2.8 million each.
Initially, the project will involve only one building but developer David Yeo said once the occupancy is filled for the first building, work will start on the second one.
Each building will be three-stories high with apartments ranging in size from 1,000 square feet to 1,250 square feet. These will be two and three bedroom units some with two baths and others with one.
These are moderate to high-end buildings, designed for seniors or those who want to sell their homes but who don’t want to leave the community.
