STANHOPE — Queens District RCMP is turning to the public to identify those responsible for property damage and vandalism to the North Shore Community Centre which is located on Route 25 in Stanhope.

The damage occurred sometime overnight Monday or Tuesday morning. The culprits scattered garbage and broken glass across the grass behind and to the side of the building and also damaged the propane tank and ventilation systems.

“This intentional vandalism concerns the RCMP, community centre staff, and residents in the area as there are always children of all ages present and playing in the grass area and the damaged propane tanks could have easily been breached,” police said.

If anyone has any information on this or any other police file, they can contact their local RCMP detachment or P.E.I. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
