SUMMERSIDE — In the last week, authorities here have arrested 10 people in three separate drug raids.

On June 15, police arrested two men after marijuana, hashish, hydromorphone, a small marijuana oil extraction lab, money, scales and a cellphone was seized from an apartment on Chelsey Court in Summerside.

During the search, police discovered butane was being used in production of the marijuana.

“Butane is very dangerous and makeshift,” said Sgt. Joseph Peters with the Major Crime Unit. “We’ve seen (butane) used before in the city.”

A 29-year-old man faces four drug charges and will appear in provincial court at a later date. The other male was released.

On June 13, police arrested four people in connection with a drug raid at a residence on Mosquito Path in Lennox Island. Police found marijuana, a digital scale, money, packaging supplies and drug debt lists.

On June 8, police arrested four more people in an apartment on South Drive in Summerside.

Prince District JFO Drug Unit, Summerside Police and West Prince RCMP recovered marijuana, crack cocaine, hydromorphone, scales, money, and cellphones while executing the search warrant.
