A section of Route 4 in Glennfanning was closed for about an hour Friday afternoon after a fertilizer truck overturned.

The accident occurred on what is known as Seven Mile Road, between Bridgetown and Cardigan.

The semi truck loaded with lime in a side-dump trailer was exiting a dirt road onto the highway when the earth under the rear trailer tires gave way, causing the trailer and truck to flip onto its side.

The driver of the truck was taken to Kings County Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Montague RCMP, Island EMS, Cardigan Fire and Rescue, Department of Transportation and Campbells Towing attended the scene.
