SUMMERSIDE — Two Summerside women were given suspended sentences and placed on nine months' probation after pleading guilty in Summerside provincial court to charges of shoplifting.

Kimberly Susan Graham, 40, and Shari Lynn McAvinn, 28, were arrested and charged after taking perfume and teeth whiteners from Shopper’s Drug Mart on Feb. 22 in Summerside.

McAvinn acted as a lookout while Graham took two bottles of perfume, make-up and one box of teeth whiteners and put them in her purse.

The value of the items was set at $221.43. All were recovered and resalable.

McAvinn was also charged in connection with a shoplifting incident at Canadian Tire on Feb. 14.
