Work on the City of Charlottetown’s outdoor rinks and ski trails is underway.

The parks and recreation department is constructing outdoor rinks in East Royalty on Macrae Drive, in the field in front of Founders Hall, at J Bomber Callaghan Park at 199 Patterson Dr., and at Orlebar Park on the corner of Orlebar and Summer streets.

Ski trails are being groomed and the boardwalk cleared at Victoria Park, and the snow on the trails near Beach Grove Home is being packed down for pedestrian traffic.

The Confederation Trail is being cleared for pedestrians from Joseph Ghiz Park to city limits at Royalty Junction. The ski trails at Belvedere Golf Course will require further snow cover before grooming can begin at that site.

The outdoor rinks and trails will be maintained as long as weather conditions continue to be suitable.

Check on the status of the rinks and trails by visiting the city’s website at www.charlottetown.ca and clicking the Winter Activities button.
