Plans for Canada Day festivities at Victoria Park in Charlottetown have been announced.

Events get underway at 11:30 a.m.

“We think that the move to Victoria Park is a great idea,” Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee said.

“Many Islanders like to gather in this historic, waterfront park in the middle of Charlottetown, the Birthplace of Confederation. With fireworks, food and entertainment scheduled, it will be an excellent day for families across the Island to enjoy.”

There will be bouncy rides, games and sports zone for kids, balloon twisting, face painting, horse and wagon rides, a petting zoo, and food and craft vendors.

Local performers are continuously on stage from 11:30 a.m. on Canada Day right up to the fireworks show.

All activities are at Victoria Park and are free of charge.
