You’re waiting until Christmas Eve to start your shopping in hopes it will kickstart your Christmas spirit.
It’s Christmas Eve, you’re sitting home with an eggnog and a copy of 100 Things to Do with Turkey Leftovers when you realize you’ve forgotten to purchase gifts for uncle Eddie and Aunt Bea.
If either of these scenarios apply to you you likely have two questions at this point.
Where can you go to shop Christmas Eve and how late are they open?
Here are your options if you live in the greater Charlottetown area.
The stores of Confederation Court Mall will be open until 4 p.m.
Stores at the Charlottetown Mall, including Zellers and Winners, will close one hour later at 5 p.m.
Canadian Tire will close at 4 p.m.
Wal-Mart will close at 5 p.m.
Future Shop will also remain open until 5 p.m.
Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street will close at 5 p.m.
Shoppers Drug Mart in West Royalty will close at 8 p.m.
Shoppers Drug Mart on University Avenue, will remain open until midnight.
All Sobeys stores in Charlottetown and Stratford will close at 5 p.m.
All Atlantic Superstore locations in the city will close at 5 p.m.
If you need to purchase beer, wine or spirits you will have until 5 p.m. to do so. All P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission stores will close at that time.
Under provincial legislation stores are required to close for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Because of the way those days fall this year, most stores will be closed Sunday and Monday, re-opening Tuesday morning.
