As part of its expansion efforts on P.E.I., Eastlink is proposing to build a telecommunications tower near Ling Road in Oyster Bed Bridge.
According to a public notice on Monday, the tower will be 61 metres tall and installed on a three-acre plot of land 45 metres from Ling Road.
Jill Laing, spokeswoman for Eastlink, said in an email that construction is expected to begin sometime between the winter and the early spring in 2018. She said the new tower is part of the company’s expansion effort to make wireless service available to new customers – residents, businesses and public safety organizations – in the area.
Laing would not say how much it would cost to build the tower.
