One dead, three injured after July 18 motor vehicle collision on Route 2 in Kensington

KENSINGTON, P.E.I. - One man is dead, and three more injured after a motor vehicle collision on Route 2 Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

Around 7:30 a.m. Prince District RCMP responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision in Norboro between the Blue Shank Road and Route 6. 

A preliminary investigation of the scene determined that a Ford SUV, driven by a 25-year-old Summerside man, was travelling east bound on Route 2 when it struck a large utility truck head on.

The three occupants of the utility truck were transported to hospital with unknown injuries while the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of the Kensington Police Services, Kensington Fire Department, Island EMS, Department of Transportation and RCMP attended the scene.

The collision remains under investigation with assistance from an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist as well as the P.E.I. Coroner’s Office.
