Confederation Landing Park in Charlottetown is going to be the site of a couple of weekend concerts this summer.

The Guardian has learned that two weekends have been set aside.

Concerts will take place June 29-30 and July 26-28.

While no names have been released yet, the lineup is said to feature adult contemporary and maybe some modern music.

Sources say the shows are being aimed at an audience size of around 5,000 people per show this summer with plans to move to the larger Charlottetown Event Grounds next year with a larger event.

Sources add that Confederation Landing Park is the choice venue because a concert that’s aimed at 5,000 people is considered too small for the event grounds. The event grounds was created with the capacity to hold 27,000 people for a concert.

Confederation Landing Park served as the host site for a Canada Day concert in 2015 that featured Kim Mitchell, April Wine and City and Colour. This year’s shows are said to be comparable to that one.
