CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Deputy Police Chief Brad MacConnell has requested the city’s advanced planning, priorities and special projects committee explore the option of connecting three municipal building centres to the city’s fibre infrastructure.

The network connectivity would benefit the city in the event the city needs to occupy one or more of these buildings in an emergency situation.

It would also open avenues for potentially expanding the e-Watch program into the outlying areas.

It has been noted that the West Royalty and Hillsborough Park community centres currently have fibre-op but Malcolm J. Darrach Community Centre lack the program.

Bell Aliant has been contacted about a quote, site assessment particulars and more, but no information has been received yet.
