Charlottetown will take part in the fourth national Garden Days next month.

Events include family-friendly informational workshops on topics such as xeriscaping and alternatives to grass, fairy gardens, integrated pest management, healthy soil and beehives.

A new addition this year is a presentation by well-known gardening author Niki Jabbour, who will speak about extending the harvest into late fall and winter, and outline some of the best crops to grow in the colder months.

Other elements of Charlottetown Garden Days include the annual barrel planting competition with city council members, city hall staff and local businesses.
