Atlantic Fiddlers’ Jamboree marks 31st edition

The Atlantic Fiddlers’ Jamboree returns for its 31st consecutive year, with music continuing today and tomorrow in the Evangeline region.

The event brings together musicians from across the Island and from abroad, allowing them to highlight their artistic talents, perform in high-calibre shows, identify potential new markets and enhance their artistic creativity. Fans and followers of traditional music can experience musical jams, participate in various workshops and enjoy performances on the main stage.

At the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall, today’s lineup starts with fiddle, guitar, bagpipes and piano workshops by Anita MacDonald, Zakk Cormier, Ben Miller and Troy MacGillivray. In the afternoon, take in the Tunesmith Circle performances by Cormier, Pepeto Pinto, Nathalie Arsenault, MacGillivray and Stéphanie Lépine. Later on, the festivities continue with a barbecue, jam and concert, followed by a square dance with music by Mathieu Gallant, MacGillivray and Karine Gallant.

Sunday’s program begins with a musical brunch at the Village Musical Acadien in Abram-Village with Gilbert Arsenault, Dawson Arsenault, Philippe Leblanc and Cormier. In the afternoon, back at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall, the presentation of the Golden Fiddle Award and a concert will feature performances by Jonathan Arsenault, Sheila MacKenzie, Arsenault, Trevor Profitt, Cormier, Miller, MacDonald, Lépine and Gallant.

The jamboree wraps up with the closing concert, in collaboration with the Mont-Carmel summer concert series, featuring MacGillivray, Vivian and Ivan Hicks, Ryan Cook and Daniel Goguen.
