CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Association of Rural Community Halls (ARCH P.E.I..) in partnership with the Atlantic Presenters Association (APA), has announced the second tour in its new Rural Routes performance series.

Rural Routes is the product of several years of creative discussion by ARCH members who had a desire to see more cultural performances in rural communities across P.E.I. Series members are taking part in professional development and programming workshops, with the goal of building capacity in venues that would like to host live performances more regularly throughout the year.

The series’ first tour took place in September and featured an internationally renowned magician. The second tour will feature performances by D’Harmo, of Quebec, and P.E.I.’s Gadelle in two venues this month.

The first show will take place April 8 at Lot 16 Community Hall, followed by a performance at Carrefour Theatre on April 9.

D’Harmo is a quartet composed of four men who are amongst the most talented harmonica players in Canada. This type of rarely seen and heard entertainment truly offers a one-of-a-kind show. D’Harmo performs an original roster of music composed by its members, and played using various types of harmonicas, all the while weaving their stories, comedy and infectious energy into each show. Their music is inspired by multiple genres combining modernity and tradition, eclecticism and pop.

Opening each performance will be P.E.I.’s own Acadian powerhouse quartet, Gadelle. All seasoned performers, Gadelle members (Louise Arsenault, Helene Bergeron, Rémi Arsenault, Caroline Bernard)

Tickets are available by contacting each venue individually. Call the Lot 16 Community Hall at 902-436-1220 for the April 8 performance. Show time is 7:30 p.m.

Contact Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean at www.carrefourisj.org for ticket information about April 9 show at 2 p.m.
