MOUNT STEWART, P.E.I. – The opening concert for Tribute to Lady Singers of our Century will be held at St. John’s United Church in Mount Stewart on Sunday, April 22, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $12 at the door which opens at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Singers of our Century have working hard to get a new show ready for this year, and will be paying tribute to new artists such as Connie Francis, Anne Murray, Crystal Gayle and Tammy Wynette, as well as doing new material by Patsy Cline and presenting the most popular songs of Loretta Lynn.
Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor will be singing familiar songs of the Francis. They have also chosen to sing songs of Murray, who was their favourite gym teacher. They have also put together some great stories and jokes that will keep ythe audience entertained and laughing.
Jolee Patkai is looking forward to once again paying tribute to her favourite female country artist, Lynn and singing her most requested songs. Patkai will also pay tribute to Lynn’s sister, singing some of her more popular songs.
Keila Glydon will also continue to sing Cline’s most requested songs, and she will be paying tribute to Wynette, a well-known and loved country artist.
Colleen MacPhee will be paying tribute once again to the late, great Rita MacNeil, singing all new material of hers, except for “Working Man”, which the group has kept for its final song.
This event is a fundraising concert for St. John’s United Church.
