The second animal to be profiled in the 2015 edition of the 12 Strays of Christmas is Hermey, a two-month-old short haired kitten that was found in a barn.

When you come to Hermey's kennel you will notice he is already purring.

He is very rambunctious with lots of energy and needs a lot of daily playtime.

He would be great with older, respectful children in the house.

Hermey would also do well with another cat or a friendly dog.

Holiday Tip #2: Pets should never be given as surprise gifts.

Prepaid adoption gift certificates make a wonderful alternative and allow the recipient to choose the right pet for themselves and the perfect fit for your household.

For more information about the adoptable animals at the shelter, visit www.peihumanesociety.com or call 902-892-1190, ext 21.

The 12 Strays of Christmas, a special feature produced by the P.E.I. Humane Society and The Guardian, will appear periodically during the holiday season.
