The Guardian

Basketball P.E.I held its first annual awards presentations this week in Charlottetown.
UPEI standouts Doug McKinney and Susanne Canvin of Charlottetown were recognized as senior athletes of the year, receiving A.D.L./Sport P.E.I Certificates of Achievement.
The junior athletes of the year were Summerside athletes Catherine Strongman and Mike Hardy, while awards were also given out in age specific categories. Jacob Simmons and Tessa Stammberger, from Belfast and Kensington respectively,  were recognized in the bantam category, while Andrew Brawn and Jamie MacLean, also both from Summerside, were the winners in the mini division.
Summerside’s Rob Anderson was named top official, while Jared Cheverie of Charlottetown won the coaching award.
Basketball P.E.I also Gary Dunning as the president of the association.

She played a key role in the bantam Sting’s provincial tournament win, also competin g at the Justin Coward event in Halifax last spring.
Brawn led the East Prince mini A boys to victory at the Sussex invitational, where he was also MVP. At the Kennebecasis Valley AA tournament, he scored 35 points in five shifts. He also led East Prince to its fourth straight provincial championship.

READER FEEDBACK
What is your opinion of the 30-page application form to be filled out by potential leadership candidates for the Progressive Conservative Party of P.E.I.?

This is a great idea. The party should know all that it can about their next leader.
It is a bit excessive. Is it really relevant to know whether a potential leader cheated on a high school exam?
