A Charlottetown doctor has been reprimanded for slow and vulgar treatment of a hospital patient.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island has ordered Dr. Doug Tweel to write a letteer of apology to the family of an in-patient who was under his care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
He has also received a written reprimand from the college and must pay a fine of $1,500.
The college determined that Tweel failed to attend in a timely way to the needs of an in-patient at the QEH when requested to do so by nursing staff. He was also found to, on attendance of the patient, to use “inappropriate methods of communication with the family including the use of profanity.’’
