Kings County deserved inclusion
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Editor:
It would have been much fairer if at least part of Kings County had been included in the Olympic torch relay.
There are three of a total of seven P.E.I. towns: Montague, Georgetown and Souris located in Kings County, any of which could have been reached very easily from the Wood Island arrival point. Additionally, a number of municipalities, including Morell, Cardigan and Murray River could have been included.
Government seems always to forget that we in this county are as much an integral part of P.E.I. as are Queens and Prince. Government recognizes our existence for tax and electoral purposes, but otherwise, we are almost totally ignored. It's time to put some fairness back into the treatment of our rural areas and municipalities.
