Bernier's OT goal sinks women's hockey Panthers

FREDERICTON, N.B. — Dominique Bernier scored 5:49 into overtime, allowing St.?Thomas Tommies to beat the UPEI?Panther 3-2 in?Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action?Sunday.
The loss was the second of the weekend for UPEI, which fell 6-2 to Moncton Saturday night.
Lucrec Nussbaum’s goal with 6:37 to play in the third forced extra time. Jillian?Coughlin had the other STU?(5-3-1).
Amber Gaudette and Amanda Armstrong replied for UPEI?(2-7-1).
The Panthers play at Mount Allison on Saturday and then in Moncton Sunday.
Saturday
Marieve Provost’s second goal of the game, this one with 26 seconds remaining in the second period, opened a two-goal lead and sixth-ranked Moncton went on to beat the UPEI Panthers 6-2 Saturday at MacLauchlan?Arena.
The Panthers appeared to be headed to the break down a goal before Provost’s marker.
Janie?LeBlanc, Valerie Boisclair, Janelle Ouellette and Kristine Labrie also scored for Moncton.
Jamie Lynn Donaldson and Genna Phelan replied for the Panthers, outshot 35-32 in the game.
