The last thing we need is more hot air
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Editor:
Premier Robert Ghiz says he misses the fiery debates he had with former premier Pat Binns ('Premier wants more fire in debates', The Guardian, Nov. 11, 209) .
Unfortunately, Premier Ghiz lost most of those legislative debates because Binns had more experience, more background information and, in my opinion, he displayed more self-confidence in telling his side of the issue.
Instead of a hot-air debate in this session of the legislature, I suggest the premier come clean on PNP for a change, advise the public of the true provincial debt, and come up with solutions to stop job losses at Cavendish Farms.
I don't believe wasting federal training dollars on laid-off workers will do any good at all because this isn't the answer for such serious problems.
The last thing Islanders need is more hot air in the legislature but instead we need answers to serious problems facing us today.
