New H1N1 vaccine schedule for this week print this article
The Guardian

The province is providing an update to the vaccine schedule for this week.
It says that a vaccine clinic will operate in Hunter River this Friday, Nov. 6 for a limited target group. See the government site for the eligible recipients.
There will also be open clinics for expectant mothers in Summerside and Charlottetown, plus special vaccine session for children with severe egg allergies this Saturday. See the government site for details.
Vaccine for students up to and including grade three will take place Thursday and Friday this week.

Me from pe writes: That's nice that they are only doing half of the schools this week and leaving the rest for another time instead of doing the whole school when they are there already.Since all schools are showing signs of the viris.Close school and let the parents take their kids into the schools and get them done.

wllsarallw from PEI writes: As a mother of two and one not yet being in the school system but in daycare. I really wish they would focus thier attention on getting the children vaccinated. I have decided for myself to not bother getting the shot as they keep complaining there isn't enough to go around. Well fine that I won't get it to make sure that my children do.

Our children should be put first during all this, not put on the back burner!

Fear Will Ruin You from charlottetown, PE writes: I am sick to death (pardon the pun) of all of this fear mongering and complaining by everyone about swine flu and the lack of vaccince. It is the FLU for crying out loud !! People have been dying from the flu for hundreds of years and will continue to die from it for hundreds more. The media and the government have completely blown this out of porportion.

Here are just a few more recent examples of things that were supposed to kill us all but have sense been completely forgotten about.

1. Avian Flu (bird Flu)
2. west nile virus
3. Ebola virus
4. Norwalk
5. SARS
6. Anthrax
7. Osama bin Laden ( remember him ? what happend to that guy ? )

Yes you very well might get the swine flu and die ! I am not disputing that. but you probably have a better chance of getting killed in a car crash on the way to the clinic to get the vaccine, or from the pack of smokes you suck down everyday, or from having an unhealthy diet, or from an accident in the workplace, or from slipping in the shower and hitting you head.

4000 - 8000 people die each year in Canada from complications arising from the flu already !!! Get some perspective !!!

The Observer from Stratford, PE writes: With regard to number 7, he's been dead for years. The US and their allies have kept him alive as a bogeyman to scare their people into accepting greater and greater erosion of their freedoms. He has never been seen/photographed or videoed conclusively since 9/11. Given his enormous ego can anyone really believe that he would be satisfied with staying that hidden for this long?

K B from NS writes: well 'Fear Will Ruin You from charlottetown' maybe you would feel differently about this flu scare if your young, healthy relative/friend lands in the ICU on a ventilator.....you need to give your head a shake - this is not your typical seasonal flu. THis flu targets young otherwise healthy people, not the frail elderly people that the seasonal flu targets. If you're able - get the vaccine.

To Fear from PEI writes: Seems to me like your the one that is panicking!

The fact is most people who die from the Regular Seasonal Influenza are those with Underlying Health Problems or Chronic Health Conditions.

There are very few young people who die from the Seasonal Flu who don't have other underlying illness or conditions. The H1N1 seems to be more prevalent among young children and those up to 25 yrs. of age. Some within those age groups have died with no proof of having underlying illnesses.

But your free to believe it is just The Flu if you wish or pure Hype. Some would rather be safe than sorry. But all are free to have their own perspective.
