Bombers, Chevies resume KCBL final
MORELL — The Kings County Baseball League championship series resumes here tonight and it’s now a best-of-three series between the Peakes Bombers and defending champion Morell Chevies.
Peakes won the first two games of the series, outscoring the Chevies 25-10.
However, Morell battled back, winning the next two games, 6-1 and 4-3, respectively.
That knots the best-of-seven series at two games a piece.
Game 5 goes tonight in Morell at 7:30 p.m., with the sixth game back in Peakes on Sunday.

Roy pleads not guilty to assault in QMJHL fight
SAGUENAY, Que. — Patrick Roy’s son has pleaded not guilty to assault following his attack on a fellow Quebec Major Junior Hockey League goaltender.
Jonathan Roy of the Quebec Remparts was not in court in Saguenay, Que., Tuesday as his lawyer entered the plea on his behalf.
Lawyer Jean-Louis Lemay has asked to get more evidence and the case has been put off until Nov. 10.
Roy, who faces a maximum fine of $2,000 or up to six months in prison, skated the length of the ice and attacked Bobby Nadeau in a playoff game against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens last March 22.
Nadeau, who now plays for the P.E.I. Rocket, says he didn’t retaliate because his coach had told him never to fight.

HALIFAX — Paul Craig of the UPEI Panthers has been selected the Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the period ending Sept. 14. The Charlottetown native, a third-year member of the soccer Panthers, scored four goals in a pair of weekend victories to increase his season total to five, good enough to lead the Atlantic conference and ranking him second in the CIS.
In Saturday’s 3-1 win over the visiting Mount Allison Mounties, Craig scored two goals and he added two more markers in the Panthers’ 4-1 road victory over the Acadia Axemen the following day in Wolfville.

Soccer’s Larissa MacEachern of Charlottetown and Morgan DesRoches of Alberton are this weekend’s Holland College athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 14.
MacEachern, in her second year as a travel and tourism management student, is a key ingredient to the Hurricanes’ success on both sides of the ball from her fullback position.
Her presence  was instrumental in the Hurricanes 5-0 win over the NSAC Rams Sunday.

DesRoches has the ability to light up the scoreboard, which was evident on Sunday in the Hurricanes 5-0 victory over the NSAC Rams.

READER FEEDBACK
What is your opinion of the 30-page application form to be filled out by potential leadership candidates for the Progressive Conservative Party of P.E.I.?

This is a great idea. The party should know all that it can about their next leader.
It is a bit excessive. Is it really relevant to know whether a potential leader cheated on a high school exam?
