SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Volunteers will be out in the Summerside area Wednesday morning collecting spare change in support of the Prince County Hospital.
The Community Services Department of the City of Summerside, along with volunteers from Ocean 100 and Hot 1055 will set up road tolls on Water Street at Reads Corner and on Granville Street close to the Superstore as part of Operation Spare Change.
The toll will take place between 7 and 9 a.m. Wednesday.
“No amount is too small. Your spare change can make a big change in the life of someone in your community,” said Heather Matheson, managing director of the PCH Foundation.
All of the donations collected will support the replacement and upgrade of medical equipment for the Prince County Hospital’s main X-Ray room – a $550,000 endeavour.
Leading up to Wednesday’s final collection day, members of the public can visit 16 local businesses to drop of their spare change. A full list can be found at pchcare.com/operation-spare-change-2018.
