The Kidney Foundation of Canada, in partnership with United Way of Prince Edward Island and Telus Atlantic Canada community board, is hosting public nutrition sessions across the Island.
“What's on your plate? Healthy Eating 101” is being presented by Heather McIver, RD, dietitian consultant, on Wednesday, June 20, 6:30-8 p.m., at the Murchison Centre, Blue Room, Charlottetown.
These free sessions are family friendly, and all ages welcome. They will feature healthy tips for every family member by learning to make small dietary changes, read labels, modify recipes and much more.
There will be nutritional advice for those with diabetes and high blood pressure (both leading causes of kidney disease), as well as resources and recipes to take home and a draw for a $150 grocery card.
Space is limited. To reserve a spot, contact Marlene Dorey, development co-ordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 902-892-9009
