Excel Accounting was identified by the Adventure Group through its three-year “Champion for Change” award project.

Excel Accounting owner Sherry White has created flexible work hours to allow staff to work around their home life, provided onsite to support advancement and encouraged her staff to create and reach for goals.

“Having a relaxed and enjoyable workplace increases productivity,” said White. “Positive and constructive feedback makes for a more content and happy employee and in turn creates a low turnover rate.”

Excel employee Sam Guerette, who has a young child at home, said she has flourished as an employee through the company’s approach.

“I immediately knew that I was where I belonged, and felt as though the other staff and management just embraced everyone's strengths and weaknesses and allowed me to thrive,” said Guerette. “I can be the supportive and caring parent that I strive to be while still being a valuable member of the team.”
