The first meeting of the P.E.I. Craft Brewers Alliance was held last month.
Created to help develop and showcase the craft beer industry on Prince Edward Island, topics at the May 10 meeting included regional taxation policies, marketing to grow craft beer in the province and working with liquor boards across the country.
The alliance is hoping to meet semi-annually.
With five breweries currently operating in P.E.I. and two more scheduled to open this year, the craft beer industry currently employs more than 150 full- and part-time staff.
