Almost everybody wants to eat healthily, but many don’t have the time and others don’t have the skill. That’s where Terrence Taylor and Danielle Kok come in.

Taylor and Kok have opened a new business in Charlottetown called the TnT food experience. They want to provide healthy food to Islanders on the go, said Kok.

“We deliver healthy, convenient meals to people who have a busy life style and normally would choose unhealthy alternatives.”

The company delivers meals twice a week. Trendsetters, which is what Taylor and Kok call their customers, get to choose from a variety of meals.

“We deliver the meals on Mondays and Thursdays, so the meals are always fresh, and we deliver to anywhere in the Charlottetown area, ” said Kok.

TnT also offers dietary training on top of delivering the healthy meals. TnT will also go shopping with their clients and show them what is healthy and how to cook it.

“We will even go to the grocery store and show you what foods are good, and then we can go to your kitchen and show you how to cook it. A lot of people know kale is good for them, for example, but they don’t know how to prepare it or what to eat it with.”

The original idea for the business came from Taylor, who gained 50 pounds after his university basketball career ended. It was then he decided something had to change.

“I got fat," he said, noting, "I quickly learned I can’t keep eating like this.”

Taylor headed to the kitchen and began experimenting with different healthy meals, trying to design a meal plan that worked.

“I experimented in the kitchen, and with some trial and error, I perfected it and came up with a eating plan that works,” said Taylor.

Though a lot of motivation came from improving himself, Taylor's main focus is on helping other people and living his life, his way.

“I wanted to not be living in a box and to be doing something fun, that I also enjoy doing and most importantly I want to benefit other people.”
