Atlantic innovators recognized

Eight Atlantic companies have won regional awards from the Innovators and Entrepreneurs Foundation.

The CANIE Awards recognize outstanding entrepreneurs, innovators and support organizations.

“It is incredible to see the resilience of entrepreneurs and innovators across the country during times like this,” said Kayla Isabelle, Board Chair of the Innovators and Entrepreneurs Foundation and Executive Director of Startup Canada in a release. “Coming together to recognize the strength and tenacity of our community is more important than ever.”

An award for enterprise support went to Planet Hatch of Fredericton and director   Adam Peabody.

SimplyCast, a Dartmouth marketing agency, and president and CEO Saeed El-Darahali, won the global entrepreneurship award.

Chinova Bioworks and CEO Natasha Dhayagude won for product innovation, Ignite Labs of Stellarton and CEO Doug Jones were honoured for social innovation, Dallas Mercer, president of Dallas Mercer Consulting in Mount Pearl, NL, was named top woman entrepreneur.

Indigenous software tester Plato Testing and CEO Keith McIntosh received an award for Indigenous Support, the Youth Impact Award went to Ariel Gough, co-founder of  Bailly Cosmetics and the CANIE Entrepreneur of the Year is Karen Campbell, president at Totally Raw Pet Food.
