The self-serve frozen yogurt shop is moving to a larger location at Mariner’s Cove Boardwalk in Cavendish.
Islands Frozen Yogurt was the first to be established in Atlantic Canada and after five years the owners felt it was time for a move.
Ryan Lowther, co-owner of Islands Frozen Yogurt, says he appreciates how Islanders have supported the locally-owned business.
“After five years, we are happy to move to a brand new and larger space surrounded by businesses that promote fun and adventure,” said Lowther.
New customers who have never been to a frozen yogurt bar always marvel that they can serve themselves with as much or as little frozen yogurt and toppings as they want.
Mariner’s Cove Boardwalk is home to Ripley’s Believe it or Not, Wax World of the Stars and Crossfire Paintball. Matthew Jelley, president of Sandspit Entertainment and owner of Mariner’s Cove noted that, “Islands Frozen Yogurt is a good fit for us. It adds another element of entertainment with a well-known established business in our community”.
The new space will be built at the end of the boardwalk and the Lowthers are gearing up for an opening in mid-June.
Just the facts
Indulging without guilt has always been possible at Islands Frozen Yogurt where a five-ounce portion of frozen yogurt and a half cup or more of fresh fruit topping like Island strawberries can provide some of the dairy and fruit requirements for the day. Then again, if you don’t care about the guilt, there are lots of chocolate, candy and syrup toppings available too.
