A full-time student in the Business Administration program at UPEI, Jenkins has successfully operated Lawn Boyz with his brother since 2012.  The award, sponsored by Air Canada, was launched to celebrate and support entrepreneurship in the province.

Jenkins started his entrepreneurial journey when he was in grade six, cutting lawns in his neighborhood.  Over time, he built up his inventory of equipment and expanded the service offering to include lawn cutting, tree service, landscaping, and snow removal. With 140 clients, Lawn Boyz is now a well-established lawn care business on PEI.

It’s an honour to receive this award,” said Jenkins. “As a full-time student and an entrepreneur, I’m learning both in the classroom and through my experiences as a business owner. I’m proud of what my brother, Cameron, and I have been able to build in Lawn Boyz, and there are many people to thank for their ongoing support.”

This award reflects the Chamber’s commitment to spark economic growth in P.E.I. by promoting and encouraging entrepreneurship. The one-time $1,000 award is paired with mentorship support from the business community, a one-year complimentary membership from the Chamber, and a feature in the Chamber’s Voice of Business magazine.

“The future of the Island economy depends on the success of our dedicated entrepreneurs who launch businesses, deliver economic growth and ensure the vitality of our communities,” said Chamber President Pam Williams. “We want to congratulate Bradley on his hard work and commitment in growing his business while pursuing his education.”

The Chamber’s Student Entrepreneurship Award will be officially presented at the upcoming President’s Annual Luncheon on May 10 in the Delta Prince Edward.
