The summit is designed for women in business to network, foster skills and acquire the knowledge needed to excel in their field.
“P.E.I. is ready to compete on the world stage and being able to have Amber share her world-class experience and encourage Island women in business will make for a tremendous occasion,” said interim Startup Zone CEO Doug Keefe.
MacArthur is a P.E.I. native who started her career in the late 1990s when she spent four years in the startup trenches in Toronto. She eventually built one of the first female-focused lifestyle portals for Microsoft Canada.
In 2006, she and her brother started their own digital agency called Konnekt Digital Engagement, which handles the consulting side of her business activities.
Her speaking, spokesperson and influencer activities are handled by her AmberMac Media Inc. company, which also is increasingly active in video production.
Her clients include Google, Mercedes, Microsoft, Nintendo, Scotiabank and Shopify.
In September, MacArthur will be emcee for the global, three-day ME Conference in Frankfurt, Germany.
She is also the author of two books, “Power Friending” and “Outsmarting Your Kids Online.”
The Business Women’s Summer Summit takes place at Startup Zone in Charlottetown beginning at 1 p.m., and is open to the public. Registration is free but space is limited.
