SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - ADL is expanding – again.
The P.E.I. dairy co-operative broke ground this week on its latest project, a 20,000-square-foot expansion of its storage and distribution facility at Reads Corner in Summerside.
Chad Mann, business development manager for the company, said the extra space will include one area for curing some of the dairy’s cheeses and another for storing products and packaging for the company’s food service division.
“Every year P.E.I. seems to be adding people now. The local food service business is growing, so we’re growing to match that market,” said Mann.
ADL has been hard at work in terms of its infrastructure over the past several years. It completed a 7,000-square-foot expansion to the same Reads Corner facility in 2016, it recently completed renovations at its Charlottetown offices and it has been in the midst of a significant expansion project at its cheese production facility on Water Street in Summerside for nearly two years now.
Mann said the company is hoping to have its space at Reads Corner ready for use by the end of August.
