After years of rumours the Starbucks coffee chain appears to be finally coming to Summerside.

A sign recently went up announcing the imminent opening of one of the coffee chain's stores at the new retail space being constructed by APM on the former Holland College property on Granville Street.  As well, a job ad for a Summerside Starbucks manager was posted on the company’s website earlier this year.

In an emailed statement to TC Media recently, a company spokeswoman said that because Starbucks doesn't have a signed lease, the company cannot confirm a franchise is going to open in Summerside.

Charlottetown has three Starbucks locations.
