What's happening to Summerside? The population isn't that large that there can be so much theft per diem, can it? I wonder if it's a case of the few criminals causing trouble repeatedly and the judges letting them out in a revolving door of justice, or if the drug problem in Summerside is actually worse than we thought? Perhaps it's time for RCMP to be paid to do a little cleanup so the Summerside police can get a little help? I've been under the assumption that the best judges, barring a few bad rulings, were responsible for sentencing in Summerside. Some type of audit needs to be done to assess where the heaviest bleeding is happening - policing resources, laws needing to be changed, judges needing to undergo reviews, more money for parolee monitoring, etc.
With a police academy and dozens of cadets doing routine patrols in Summerside, I would have thought it would be a lot safer there. You rarely go a block without seeing some type of police vehicle in Summerside because of this. Now when I lock my car in Summerside, I worry about it, and hide anything of even the smallest value under the seats. You can't have a small town like Summerside, which has done so well in the past decade, without some benefit of small town charm. Once the drug dealers get organized, they get a lot more money, and that's when you'll wish you spent the time, money and resources on the issue before it festered to that level. Now is the time to strike crime hard. You should think again if you think a small town like Summerside can't become a slummy haven for crime.

Three charges. Well if found quilty on all three charges you are looking at a suspended semtence, probation. or one weekend in jail if the crimes were really serious. Pick one.
