The Guardian's Doug Gallant was awarded the Media Person of the Year Award today at the 2010 ECMA industry awards banquet in Sydney N.S. Doug's on-going love affair with Canadian music and musicians is just one of the countless reasons he so richly deserves a second ECMA Media Person of the Year award. Always supportive to both new and well known artists alike, his personal Canadian music collection and catalogue knowledge base is unequaled. Congratulations Mr. Gallant! May there be many more such accolades.

Congrats Doug. It is very much deserved. A little payback for many years of promoting PEI music and loving music in general.

Richly deserved. Doug's love of music is so evident and he promotes all forms of music. Probably best of all he's not the least snobbish about music the way others music critics can be. He doesn't seek to tear down musicians - if he doesn't have anything good to say he doesn't say anything. Enjoy the weekend.
