Jasmine Tang gave the host team the lead three minutes in, but Kate Hickey tied it six minutes later.
Nova Scotia defeated New Brunswick 3-0 in the other contest behind second half goals by Josie Oickle, Hannah Lawrence and Zoe Brown. Haley Kardas and Hannah Allen shared the shutout.
P.E.I. plays Nova Scotia Friday at 10 a.m. while New Brunswick plays Newfoundland and Labrador at noon.
Thomas Ford scored the game-winning goal in the 47th minute as P.E.I. defeated Newfoundland and Labrador 2-1 in boys play.
Jonathan MacKenzie opened the scoring in the 22nd minute to give the Island a 1-0 lead at halftime. Harry Carter pulled Newfoundland back to within one in the 51st minute, but Newfoundland could not score the equalizer. Nova Scotia defeated New Brunswick 2-1 in the other contest behind goals by Burke McIntosh and Obaid Hadayat. Toussaint Mumbili responded for New Brunswick.
P.E.I. plays Nova Scotia Friday at 4 p.m. while New Brunswick plays Newfoundland and Labrador at 2 p.m.
P.E.I. played to a 1-1 draw with Newfoundland and Labrador at the under-13 championship in St. John's, N.L.
Mia Fradsham scored in the 12th minute and the Island took a 1-0 lead into the half. Mallory Martin replied three minutes into the second half. Nova Scotia defeated New Brunswick 8-0.
The Island plays Nova Scotia Friday at 9:30 a.m. Atlantic while New Brunswick plays Newfoundland and Labrador at 11:30 a.m.
