The Suzanne Birt rink dropped both its games on Saturday to open day the Scotties Tournament of Hearts national women's curling championship.

The Charlottetown Curling Complex foursome, of lead Leslie MacDougall, second Sarah Fullerton and third Shelly Bradley, lost 8-6 to Manitoba's Jennifer Jones and 11-5 to New Brunswick's Andrea Crawford.
